Welding Automation process

All of you who want to automate the welding process in your production, the content we have prepared will greatly help you understand what all the steps are necessary for the system to work without errors. In order to automate production, one part or a complete product line, it is necessary to establish control of the whole process, from the very beginning.

Process control through preparation stages:

Sheet metal cutting is the first in a series of processes and requires high accuracy of the cut semi-finished products. To ensure this, parts should be laser, plasma or press cut with appropriate cutting tools. In this way, the accuracy and repeatability of the positions for further stages of production is ensured.

If the semi-finished products are bent or plastically deformed after cutting, it is necessary to ensure accuracy in the set tolerances of all parts. In order to ensure accuracy, it is necessary to perform bending on CNC presses or with special tools, which achieves absolute repeatability. Otherwise, the dimensions of the bent parts may vary, which significantly complicates the further course of automation.

In order to form the product (join the parts of which it is composed into one or more entireties) precise and reliable tools for spot welding are needed. The tools must ensure the accuracy of the formed piece within the specified tolerances as well as repeatability. In this way, the influence of the human factor on the automation process is avoided.

Clamping tools in robotic welding must ensure high repeatability of the parts formed in the previous stages of production. In order to enable the reproducibility of the positions of all the parts to be welded, all previous stages of production must be satisfied. Otherwise, the process of automation is difficult in many ways, and in many cases impossible.
